Compulsory for all vehicles since the 1985 Badinter law, motor liability cover obliges insurers to intervene as soon as a vehicle is involved in a traffic accident. The Motor Professional Liability cover covers damage for which the professional is legally responsible. With the support of loss adjusters specialised in Civil Liability, the Stelliant group offers insurers and their clients an agile and technical intervention, carried out by enthusiasts of automotive technologies and certified Damaged Vehicle (DV).
Civil liability vehicle insurance scope
Mandatory in France since the 1958 Badinter law, civil liability vehicle insurance provides compensation for damage caused to third parties by the driver of a Motorised Land Vehicle (MLV). This is true for every type of MLV (cars, two-wheelers, heavy goods vehicles, bus, farm machinery, etc.) as soon as it is travelling on a public road and transporting goods or persons.
Various types of claims of a material or bodily nature are covered by civil liability vehicle insurance:
- Collisions between vehicles.
- A vehicle collision with an inert object: real estate property, store windows, bus shelters, etc.
- Damage caused by a vehicle fire.
In these situations, civil liability vehicle insurance covers damage repair to compensate victims: passengers in the vehicle responsible, passengers and drivers in other vehicles involved, cyclists and pedestrians, and owners of damaged property, etc.
Legitimate liability loss adjusters in many fields
Our loss adjusters specialise in motor liability and have the know-how and technical knowledge of all types of motorised vehicles: automotive, agricultural, heavy goods vehicles, industry, rail transport, etc.
When the liability of one of the professionals in the sector is sought, the procedure generally begins in an amicable and contradictory phase before turning, in certain cases, towards a judicial drift. This stage makes it possible to define the regulatory frameworks, establish the causes, the cost of the damage and the possible responsibilities incurred, with supporting contracts. Once our loss adjuster’s conclusions have been reached, the dispute can be settled amicably with a memorandum of understanding or in court if there is disagreement. To avoid the latter option, our loss adjusters support their interventions with clear and pedagogical communications in order to limit legal drift.
Specialists for a unique response
The Stelliant group offers a global and modular offer on the whole risk chain. Within the framework of a dispute between a car professional and his client, our loss adjusters specialising in motor liability mobilise the skills of our in-house staff or those of other specialities in order to respond to all types of claims:
- Research into the causes and circumstances of a fire in the event of a vehicle fire;
- Accidentology to understand the causes, determine responsibilities and reproduce the kinetics of the accident;
- A construction loss adjuster can be called in to assess any damage to the building and to further quantify the loss;
- A financial loss adjuster to assess the operating loss caused by the dispute
- A cyber loss adjuster if the technologies on board the vehicle are likely to be the cause of the loss.
As many complementarities as services and modes of intervention rethought to offer our professional insurance clients optimised management of missions and a complete, technical and well-founded response to several aspects of the same claim.
